With its Hengelo location, NTS is a specialist in ultra-precision manufacturing and complex mechatronic assembly. Within this framework, Norma NTS supplies extremely accurate mechatronic systems to high-tech customers.The company has progressively grown over the years, and along with that the need for special packaging. Thus Meilink supports NTS to deliver sensitive equipment intact. This works so well that NTS Norma has also entrusted a part of the logistics to Meilink to allow them to focus on their core activities.
Increasingly high demands
For more than 30 years, NTS has been a loyal customer of Meilink. However, their high-tech products are subject to ever-increasing demands and therefore also to packaging. In addition to simple crates, packaging materials, smart cardboard packaging and all kinds of Rako bins, NTS has an increasing need for high-tech packaging. For example, crates with insulated walls for temperatures between -20 and +40 degrees and wire springs to accurately dampen G-forces as low as 6g. Or Rako boxes with a plastic interior using special lockings for the product. The containers go from NTS in Hengelo to producer a supplier in America and back again.
On time, undamaged and flexible
With Meilink's complete range of packaging, products arrive intact and are easy to handle without causing damage. After the development and delivery of the insulated packing cases, Gijs Vastert, Meilink account manager for NTS, suggested that we also handle air freight to the US through our logistics specialist VPS, part of Meilink. The good news is that the first deliveries have been very positively received, so both NTS and the aforementioned supplier have now also decided to work with VPS.
Total chain management
The total chain management provided by Borculo greatly reduces the burden on NTS. This starts with the production and delivery of the special cases, and includes loading at NTS in Hengelo, transport to Schiphol Airport and export control to air freight to the US and subsequent delivery in on-site at the supplier. For the return shipment of empty packaging, everything happens in reverse order: loading and transport to the US, followed by air transport to Amsterdam and, after clearance, transport to NTS in Hengelo!
