"Working sustainably is in our DNA," said Frederiek Rikken, responsible for Meilink's CSR policy. "The choice of green power from the Netherlands is therefore logical for us. Pure Energie is one of the few providers of truly green power, and the only energy supplier that also exclusively reinvests its profits in wind and solar energy projects. This dark-green aspect and the personal contact convinced us to make the switch."
Meilink's 300 employees will soon receive an extra advantageous offer to switch to Pure Energie themselves. "We think it is important to include our colleagues in our sustainable vision. Therefore, together with Pure Energie, we offer a special collectivity discount on green electricity and gas."
The sustainability of Meilink
Switching to Pure Energie is a nice step forward in Meilink's sustainability policy. The company has been working on sustainability for years. For example, Meilink recently installed 440 solar panels on one of its factory buildings in Borculo, in addition to the 335 panels that were already there. There have also been 363 solar panels on the roof of Meilink Boxmeer since 2015. All wood used for packaging material bears the FSC and PEFC labels. Wood waste is recycled. In addition, Meilink sponsors the three Dutch Solar Teams.
About Pure Energy
Pure Energie has been voted the greenest energy supplier in the Netherlands five times in a row, by Consumentenbond, Greenpeace and Natuur&Milieu, among others. The energy company only supplies green power from its own windmills and solar energy projects in the Netherlands. 90% of profits are reinvested in new, green energy projects. The remaining 10% goes to the Pure Energie Fonds, which supports sustainable initiatives in the Netherlands. Also visit www.pure-energie.nl.
